Trust is having integrity and knowing the impact of the relationship and outcome if that trust is broken. There should always be accountability for mistrust and having trust is something earned not bought or made up. The majority of the time people do not know how the trust got there but the instinct knows. There should always be a foundation of leadership, with integrity, morals and ethics. Then with all that comes a good leader, someone people can trust, a mentor and someone people can talk to. When the truth is being told people need to listen but when people are moving so fast and do not take the time the truth is never heard therefore the trust is never built. Many seem to protect thinking they are helping people by not telling them the truth when really that is not professional and can cause more heartache than being bold and letting them hear it even if it hurts for a short time. Contrarians open the eyes, raise challenges and need to do so because they are the growth of the company. Admitting mistakes especially when it happens is a great way of being a leader even if they do not carry the title because that too builds trust. The final ending to a day good or bad in any organization should be that there is great mentors that can be trusted, that an employee can go to bed with a clear conscious and wants to be able to help others and not at the cost of someone else’s.
